With financial support from Budhanilkantha Municipality, the Center for Disabled Children Assistance (CDCA) had conducted a comprehensive field assessment across the municipality. Entitled “Data Collection of Persons with Disabilities in Budhanilkantha Municipality,” the project was guided by the following key objectives:
To determine the total population and demographic distribution of citizens with disabilities within the municipality.
To identify the primary challenges and barriers faced by individuals with disabilities in their daily lives.
To raise awareness among persons with disabilities regarding their legal rights and the public services available to them.
To compile and submit comprehensive data and actionable insights to the concerned municipal authorities.
The initiative utilized a robust methodology incorporating both primary and secondary sources. Specifically, the project gathered critical data on individuals with disabilities, analyzed their current living conditions, and examined the broader landscape of Government of Nepal policies and support services.
Ultimately, this initiative highlights the vital role of the collaboration between CDCA and Budhanilkantha Municipality in fostering a more inclusive society and advancing positive attitudes toward persons with disabilities across Nepal.
